ZDF broadcasting group to discontinue SD signal in November 2025
November 18, 2025, is an important date for all television viewers in Germany
The ZDF broadcasting group is ending the transmission of its programs in SD format. This marks another significant step in the complete switch from SD to modern HD signals.
Anyone who still watches TV via SD reception should take action now. Without timely adaptation—whether through an HD-compatible receiver, a current TV set at the customer's home, or a corresponding module in the headend—the screen will remain black from the cut-off date onwards.
